Prof Chris Pollock delivered a 20 minute talk and took part in discussion and questions for a further 2 hours with an audience of about 100 people. Although the subject 'Why I would prefer to wear GM cotton underpants than live next door to an organic dairy farm' had the potential for fireworks, Chris delivered a reasoned and evidence-based message about agricultural technologies which was much appreciated by all. The evening was capped by the local organic movement presenting Chris with a pair of organic cotton boxer shorts!
